The D|Lakota language has been declared a critically endangered language with the average age of a fluent speaker being 65 years old.

 

Working with valued Elders, Wisdom Keepers and current speakers across the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, we are recording and creating an ever expanding audible dictionary of core words and phrases.

The D|Lakota Language Project is a project of Lakota Youth Development.

Lakota Voices Dictionary, a D\Lakota Language Project, is a program of Lakota Youth Development, a 501(c)(3) Native nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax deductible.
